New - Seayak 500 LV and Seayak 520 HV

Building on the successful design for the Marlin, Prijon are proud to introduce 2 new sea kayaks to their impressive HTP range.

The market has been crying out for Low Volume sea kayaks. Smaller paddlers are making a stand and demanding boats designed specifically for them. The Seayak 500 LV will answer their cries.

Equally at the other end of the scale the NEW seayak 520 HV has the larger paddler in mind. Previoulsy a bigger payload has compromised speed. Not now!

New from Prijon - Pure S and XL

Taking the creeking world by storm, Prijon have unveiled their newest Whitewater boat in 2 new sizes. The Pure made an entrance in the middle of the UK season this last year. To have it now joined by a larger and smaller version really opend it up as a serious contender for all you creekers out there.

Prijon's HTP plastic is well known for it's toughness and strength. The HTP blow moulded plastic really lends itself to creeking with it's almost indestructable style.

We now have Demo boats and stock of each size.

Pelican International

Last week I had the pleasure of visiting Pelican's factory in Laval, Canada.
It is an immense place, where raw material pellets come in at one end and finished boats and snow toys come out at the other.
For those who are keen on their technology, the production facility was mind blowing.

The whole thing starts with the production of the material sheets. The guys at Pelican found it was best to product their own sheets, so their exact requirements and strict quality could be adhered to.
Two massive machines extrude a constant feed sheet which looks just like a giant strip of bubblegum. This is then cut into sheets ready for the intended product.
A selection of machines make the canoe and kayaks, the biggest and fastest turning out 36 per hour!

There are some great new products and accessories on their way for the 2010 season, as soon as we have images, we'll post them up.

Welcome

Wahoo!
Welcome to the Avoncraft Canoes & Kayaks blog.

Here we are going to try and bring you all the great things we see, hear and do.

Prijon Viper

Picture the scene, parents paddling their beautiful sleek touring kayaks on stunning waterways while their children, the next paddling generation struggle way behind in their small whitewater kayaks. After all, it is the only boat that fits them!

Finally a kayak designed for the new generation. The whole Viper concept has children, young people and small adults from 30 to 60kg and up to 165cm tall specifically in mind.

A smaller seat and narrow cockpit allow greater control, comfort and connection with the kayak, even on the longest of journeys. Featuring the Prijon signature Tri-hedral hull the Viper tracks beautifully, but remains highly maneuverable.
